On Wednesday 28th of September we held an official opening ceremony for the Short Game Facility, otherwise known as the 19th hole.
Contrary to common practice there was no ribbon cutting, instead Club Life Members Helen Amott and Tony Kelly opened the facility by teeing off for the first time in front of a crowd of Club Members.
This Short Game Facility provides a first class coaching, practice and training facility that will enhance the development of golf at our Club. This green will also act as a 19th hole, which provides maximum flexibility in the event a hole needs to be taken out of play for maintenance.
The Short Game Facility is located between the second and third holes and maintenance entry road. The green consists of a massive 550m2 to 600m2 – to allow for multiple uses. The amount of short grass surrounding the green also allows for a variety of stances, lies and distances and plays around 80 to 90 metres.
We are thrilled to have this grand addition to our course and encourage all Members to enjoy and utilise this facility.
