Congratulations to Charlie Park & Nicholas Mulqueen who won the 2024 R.E Ross Trophy held on Sunday 25th May.

CCV Volunteer Recognition Award – Phil Rossiter

CCV Volunteer Recognition Award – Phil Rossiter

Recently, Community Clubs Victoria sought nominations for club volunteers from across Victoria to be recognised for their commitment and hard work in honour of National Volunteer Week (20th – 26th May 2024). The Club saw this as a great opportunity to nominate Phil Rossiter, who has been a Member of the Warragul Country Club for 50 years and a consistent volunteer during this time.

Last week, Phil was invited to attend a Community Clubs Victoria gathering of local club volunteers where he was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his dedication to volunteering.

Below are some examples of Phil’s long-standing and regular volunteer work.

  • Local Gazette scribe – Phil submits golf results on a weekly basis and provides summaries of main golf events on behalf of the Club. Phil has performed this role continuously for many decades.
  • Friday Night Raffle – for over 30 years Phil has volunteered his time for our Friday Night Raffle. He assists in the administration of the Raffle, by recording and maintaining numbers drawn, winners and prizes.
  • Course maintenance & events volunteer – Phil is always first to assist the course maintenance team anytime the Club hosts a major golf event or a weather event causes damage to the golf course.
  • Golf Committee Member – Captain from 2015 to 2019 and Vice-Captain from 2020 to 2022.
  • In addition to his volunteer work at the Country Club, Phil has also been an active and long serving volunteer member of the Warragul Lions Club.

On behalf of all Members, we congratulate Phil on this recognition and Award for his outstanding work as a volunteer in our community.

Women’s Pennant Final Results

Women’s Pennant Final Results

On Monday 13th May our Women’s Pennant team played Churchill Monash at Trafalgar Golf Course in the Women’s Pennant Final.

It was a great game with Warragul leading 3/2 after the first 9 holes. Unfortunately for us, the last 9 holes saw Churchill take the lead winning overall. Congratulations to the Churchill Monash Women’s Pennant Team for winning the final and a round of applause for our Warragul Women’s Pennant Team who played so well.

Logan Trophy 2024

Logan Trophy 2024

Congratulations to Paula Fowler and Kellie Phillips who won the Club’s esteemed Logan Trophy.

This memorial event was introduced in 1950 to commemorate Emily ‘Ma’ Logan for her thoughtfulness for the Warragul Golfers. Living adjacent to the golf course, Ms. Logan erected a refreshment stand and water tank with a tap and glasses to refresh golfers after the long, uphill par 5 to the 10th hole.
