Gippsland Super 6 Volunteering

We are excited to announce that planning is well underway for the Gippsland Super 6 event, which will be held from the 12th to the 15th of December. As we prepare, we are now seeking expressions of interest for our volunteer program.

Please note that this year, the PGA requires all volunteers to hold a current Working With Children’s (WWC) check. This is mandatory, and anyone without an active WWC check will be unable to volunteer at the event. The good news is that obtaining a WWC check is free, and the Warragul Country Club is here to assist any members who wish to volunteer in completing the application online. If you haven’t yet applied or need to renew your WWC check, you can begin the process by visiting this link: https://service.vic.gov.au/services/working-with-children.

The application process is straightforward, but if you encounter any difficulties, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to provide support to ensure you can complete the process smoothly.

Once you have your WWC check, please register your interest in volunteering via this link: https://australiangolf.rosterfy.com.au/register.

This year, the PGA has introduced an automated system called Rostify, which simplifies the process of matching volunteers with roles and dates.

Congratulations to Steve Porch who defended his Victorian Veterans State Championships at Corowa GC on October 7th & 8th, with scores of 74 & 73 (1 over Par)

Summer Nine Returns

Our Summernine / Twilight Golf is back for 2024/2025, starting this Sunday 6^th October.

Twilight Golf was originally introduced by the late Neville & Annie Boyer (Life Members of the Club) with the aim to drive afternoon golf during the daylight savings period. 

Proudly sponsored by John Maher, owner of Bakers Delight, this annual event is available to all Members during the daylight savings period of 2024/2025.

Play 9 holes and enjoy an afternoon drink at the 19^th hole (aka the Clubhouse bar) after your round. Just put your name down on the timesheet and notify the Pro Shop you wish to enter.

Days & Time: Sunday to Friday at any time (alternate Nine’s each week)

Fees: $5 entry fee for 9 holes

Eligibility: All categories of Golf Membership

Prizes: Weekly prizes

Format: Stableford. Weekly Winners (Male & Female) 

1st Place: 2000 Loyalty Points and 3 points added to rolling tally

2nd Place: 1500 Loyalty Points and 2 points added to rolling tally

3rd Place: 1000 Loyalty Points and 1 point added to rolling tally

A dinner and presentation night will be held at the conclusion of the season, available to all who participated in minimum 5 rounds throughtout the season.

This is a fun event that Members have been enjoying for years. Why not give it a try!
