Further Changes to Golf 28/05/2020

Dear Members,
How good is it to be back playing on our course!
It’s been pleasing to see so many of you coming out and playing these past two weeks.
As we move into the next stage of easing of restrictions from June 1, the joint committees have addressed some changes going forward.
- From Saturday 6th June, Saturday timesheets will move back to a two tee start. With outside gatherings increasing to 20, we feel comfortable that we can accommodate the increase in numbers in and around the club and comply with the social distancing instructions.
- Open timesheets will remain on Saturdays to allow family members to continue sharing a cart as we still comply with the 1 occupant per cart rule.
- Ladies Wednesday timesheets will revert back to two tees from June 10.
- Even with the increase, we still ask members to not congregate outside the Pro Shop before and after golf and continue to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your tee time.
- Visitors with a Golflink number will have access to Competitions from Tuesday 9th June. Saturdays will remain Members Only until further notice.
- Green Fee players will be given access from Sunday 14th June.
- Preferred lies will be activated shortly as conditions start to worsen on the course, so as to allow golfers the opportunity for clean contact on the ball. Please check Local Rule notices daily.
Whilst we commend Members on adhering to the Covid restrictions, the club expresses concern on the state the course has been left in during this time. Particular mention on pitch marks & divots and the fact that there are no green fee players currently on the course.
Can I please ask that when you are next out playing that you repair yours and one other pitch mark on the greens and make sure that when carrying your sand bucket you fill any divots that you may see.
Another area of concern is the cart traffic. As we have an increased cart traffic due to large fields and one cart per person, it is imperative that members adhere to the signs and ropes that Nathan and his staff have put out on the course. These are done to manage and protect certain areas to give golfers the best conditions possible in which to play from.
The Miscore App has been met with positive reviews, this is currently at no cost to the club and will remain so till September 30th. After this time, we may look to purchase for implementation on a more permanent basis. This does not mean that paper scorecards will be made redundant. The app is to help with the ease of entering scores, a live leader board for member interaction as well as many other great features. If you haven’t yet downloaded, I suggest you do even just to try on your next social round.
Competitions will remain Stableford or Stroke on Monthly Medal Days as the Miscore app only allows for these types at this point in time. This may differ from what is advertised in the Programme Book from week to week, so please keep an eye on the website for changes.
The Club will reopen on 9th June for meals only, this means that presentations and after golf activities will still be on hold. However, as restrictions keep easing we will review access by Golf Members to the Clubhouse.
Yours in Golf,
Heath Jones
